The voice of Morocco's maritime fisheries and aquaculture professionals, institutional partner of the Summit.
The Federation of Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture (FPMA) is the professional organisation representing entrepreneurs and operators in Morocco's maritime fisheries and aquaculture sector. A sectoral federation affiliated with the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), it provides official, structured representation for shipowners, fishers, aquaculture operators and seafood processing industrialists. Founded in 2007, it has since become one of the most structured and representative professional bodies in Morocco's fisheries sector, contributing notably to the design of the Halieutis Strategy and to ongoing dialogue between private operators and public authorities.

As the private fisheries sector's spokesperson, the federation combines professional representation, sustainable resource management and industry structuring.
As the official spokesperson for the private fisheries sector, FPMA defends the economic, technical and social interests of its members before ministries and public institutions, both national and international.
Scientific collaboration with the Institute of Research for Development (IRD), promotion of good practices and the fight against illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing, and monitoring of environmental and fisheries regulation.
Involvement in designing the Halieutis Strategy, advocacy for a recognised inter professional body, integration of emerging segments such as RSW fishing, and support for seafood value addition.
FPMA sits on the boards of INRH, ONP, ANDA and CESE, carrying professionals' voice and ensuring ongoing coordination with the administration.
In the southern provinces, home to a significant share of the offshore and industrial segments FPMA represents, the fishing and processing ecosystem already generated over 3 billion dirhams in annual value added and around 14,000 direct jobs, with a fleet of 190 offshore vessels, 5,866 artisanal boats and close to 130 processing units, roughly 30% of national seafood processing capacity. Chaired by Mohammed Lamine Hormatollah, FPMA sits on the sector's main governance bodies: the National Institute for Fisheries Research (INRH), the National Fisheries Office (ONP), the National Agency for Aquaculture Development (ANDA) and the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE). It also maintains a network of institutional, scientific and professional partners spanning Morocco, Africa and Europe: CGEM, the Confederation of Industrial Pelagic Fishing Shipowners, the FAO, the World Bank Group, the French Development Agency, the Ministerial Conference on Fisheries Cooperation (COMHAFAT), as well as counterpart federations in Spain, the Canary Islands and Mauritania.
